OTEYZA creates the MERINA show. A show of fashion, dance, electronic music and visual arts, which shows, through the history of merino wool, the progression of Spanish creation from the origin of the material to the highest avant-garde.

ACT 1
BIRTH
Living matter and catalyst of transformations.
The show begins with the genesis of the animal, its strength, energy and environment. The folk dance takes us back to the origin, the birth of merino wool.
This act refers to shepherding and the driving element of the action, the merino sheep. Primitive choreographies that lead us to the exaltation of the raw material in its essential nature.
A visceral act full of strength, presence, grit and tradition.
ACT II
THE TRACE
In creation, the cast, in the spirit the line, in the impulse, the work.
The second act focuses on dreams and creation. The tracing of matter for its future transformation begins. Art is born from craftsmanship.
Choreography and music alternate melodic rhythms with digital keyboards. The lighting helps to lose the dimensions and reference of the stage, giving way to the line and contour of the dancers, flying in an infinite space.
ACT III
THE LIVING WORK
Dreams spun from fabrics of life
The dream becomes reality. The garments begin to be woven, through the counterpoint between the dreamlike and the material creation. Inspired by the hegemony of 16th century Spanish fashion and its two legendary dyes: Iberian black and New World red. In this act, the choreography is the closest to flamenco and its staging the most representative within the “Spanish” iconography.
ACT IV
HIGH AVANT-GARDE
Colour, freedom and expression
The dream finds its voice and path.
The fourth act completes the destination of our journey, the ultimate avant-garde.
The universe of colour lands in a world full of strength, expression and freedom. The crossover with the digital world brings to the surface new codes of expressions and forms, introducing new paths yet to be discovered.
