Cultural Heritage

OTEYZA, National Fashion Award, is consolidated through the National Costume Museum as Spanish artistic and cultural heritage: archived, catalogued and present in the museum’s permanent collection, also developing with the latter multiple activities around the Spanish legacy and merino wool.

Its pieces are present and form part of other exhibitions of national and international cultural and artistic institutions.

OTEYZA presents ‘Zagal’ for the exhibition ‘Donde Nace el Traje: 100 años cambiando el patrón de la historia’ at the Museo Nacional del Traje.

Inspired by the Villaciervos shepherd’s cloak and the work of Ortiz Echagüe, this piece aligns in an exemplary way with the aims of the exhibition. Its contemporary reinterpretation, made in Spanish merino wool and respecting the functional and aesthetic essence of the original garment, not only pays homage to tradition, but also reinforces the dialogue between history and modernity.

"Where art finds its expression".
